Bitcoin is the most important monetary technology since coined gold. It deserves to be taught well.
Most Bitcoin "education" online is a mess. Shitcoin shills hiding behind generic crypto branding. Exchanges renting attention through affiliate links. Dry technical docs that scare beginners off. Hype-cycle nonsense that ages like milk. We were tired of it. So we built this.
What we believe
- Bitcoin is the only one. We don't cover altcoins, tokens, or "crypto." Other coins have other sites. We have one.
- Self-custody is the point. If your keys live on an exchange, you don't own Bitcoin - you own an IOU. We teach you how to own real Bitcoin.
- Sound money matters. Inflation isn't a force of nature; it's a policy. Understanding why fiat fails is the door to why Bitcoin wins.
- Verify, don't trust. Every claim on this site is sourced. Every on-chain number is cross-referenced against a live Bitcoin node via ChainQuery.com. When we get something wrong, we publish the correction in public.
- Open by default. Our content is CC-BY-SA. Translate it, embed it, remix it. Build your own Bitcoin school on top of ours.
What we won't do
- No price predictions.
- No "this could moon" content.
- No affiliate links to exchanges or hardware we wouldn't use ourselves.
- No tracking you across the web.
- No newsletter spam.
- No cookie banners full of dark patterns.
Who this is for
The curious person who feels something is off with the financial system, doesn't quite get why, and wants to understand without being talked down to or sold to. Brand new is fine. Five years in is fine. We'll meet you where you are.
Where the work happens
Everything you read here is open source. The content lives at github.com/treib-holdings/learnbitcoin-content, licensed CC-BY-SA. Every page has an "Edit on GitHub" link near the bottom. Spot a typo, an outdated number, a place where the explanation could be sharper? Open an issue or send a pull request. Substantive contributions get credited.
